I'm the author of R package HCV, a spatial clusteirng method which involving spatial proximity by constructing the Voronoi diagram, the uniquness of HCV algorithm is that it ensure the connectness on spatial domain (through constructing adjacency matrix) but also alleviate the uncertainty by applying the R package M3C (through Monte Carlo Simulation), but one thing to do is that the time complexity of hierarchical clustering algorithm is the cubic of number of samples, therefore, I'm working on implementing C to accelerate the whole algorithm, espicially the part of matrix searching and distance calculating.
Another project I'm working on is CRF (Conditional Random Field) in computer vision. In the segmentation task of comoputer vision, we try to find the best classification of each pixels to form a cluster, or segment, the choose of the task is oftenly CNN neural network, CRF try to minimize the energy function which constructe by unary potential and pairwise potential, in such case, the unary potential is the output of CNN module, the output can be improved the setting a great pairwise potential, and we are working on it.
